Cut and Paste

Cutting and pasting works in the same manner as copy and delete.

Cut Command

The Cut command removes the figure from the drawing canvas and adds it to the clipboard. Select a figure or group of figures and use one of the following three methods to perform a cut:

1. Select the Edit Menu and select Cut.

   

2. Open the Contextual Menu and choose Cut.

   

3. Use the Control-X keyboard shortcut.

Paste Command

The Paste command adds the current clipboard contents to the drawing canvas. To Paste current clipboard contents:

1. Select the Edit Menu and select Paste.

   

2. Open the Contextual Menu and choose Paste.

   

3. Use the Control-V keyboard shortcut.

Pasting the clipboard contents multiple times into the Drawing Canvas causes the figure(s) to be placed in slightly offset positions, as shown below.

Paste Special Submenu

The Paste Special Submenu can be used to perform additional pasting actions.

To paste a figure in the same exact location, click on the Edit Menu or Contextual Menu, select Paste Special, and choose Paste in Place.

To see the pasted figure select the figure and drag in any direction. In the example below, the pasted figure is dragged to the right.

To paste multiple instances of a figure in the clipboard, bring up one of the above shown menus, select Paste Special, and choose Paste Multiple

Multiple pastes of the clipboard content will cause each figure to be placed in slightly offset positions, as shown below:

To paste the style of a figure, bring up one of the above shown menus, select Paste Special, and choose Paste Style. Refer to the Paste Style section of this documentation to learn more.
